Solid Home Improvement is a family-run construction and remodeling company serving the Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Northern Virginia area. Founded by builder Adam Betalvi in 2011, the company has grown into a trusted name for renovations and additions, known for its quality craftsmanship and attention to detail.
In 2020, Adam’s wife Maria joined the business, bringing her background in communications, marketing, and operations to support the company’s continued growth. Together, they combine hands-on building expertise with strong project coordination, working closely with homeowners to plan and execute renovations with care, transparency, and precision.
At Solid Home Improvement, every project is approached with the belief that thoughtful planning, clear communication, and quality craftsmanship are the foundation of a successful renovation.

Adam Betalvi
​
Adam Betalvi’s building career began in his home country of Israel, where he trained with a master carpenter crafting custom furniture. His passion for woodworking eventually grew into a broader interest in building and remodeling homes.
He later moved to Canada, where he worked as a framer to learn North American construction methods before relocating to the United States. Adam spent several years working with a residential construction company specializing in renovations and additions with a strong focus on finish carpentry. After expanding his skillset and gaining extensive hands-on experience, he founded Solid Home Improvement in 2011.
What began with small handyman projects has since grown into a full-scale construction and remodeling company serving the D.C. metro area. Adam is known for his craftsmanship, structural expertise, and attention to detail, and is licensed as a contractor in Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Virginia.

Maria Betalvi

Maria Betalvi joined Solid Home Improvement in 2020, bringing her background in communications, marketing, and business operations to the family company. Prior to joining the business, she worked in public relations and was a co-owner and administrator of an international ESL language school, where she oversaw recruitment, marketing, and day-to-day operations.
At Solid, Maria manages project coordination, scheduling, budgeting, and client communication while also assisting with design concepts, finish selections, and material sourcing. She oversees the company’s marketing and social media presence and handles the staging and presentation of completed projects.
Her involvement in the renovation of the couple’s own early-1900s home further shaped her hands-on experience with materials, finishes, and the renovation process, deepening her role in the company’s projects.
